We’re extending this invitation for you to join us this winter for an exclusive kayaking course we are offering:Ocean Skills Development Week
Designed especially for advancing beginners and beyond, this is your opportunity to paddle the Atlantic Ocean this winter and enjoy the laid back town of Tybee, Island Georgia.
Join the ranks of accomplished paddlers who’ve been to the ocean, and enjoy the dynamics of ocean paddling by utilizing this experience to achieve and enhance your personal goals. This will help you toward a more confident and accomplished paddler and build your skills for more adventurous ocean trips we lead as well. Use this class to set the stage for more upcoming adventurous trips and courses to the ocean.
Working as a team, Michelle and I have been bringing fellow paddlers to this location for years and taught/guided in this region as well. We are known for our logistics and accommodations, teaching in many types of environments, and adventurous trips to Lake Superior, Alaska, Maine, and Cumberland Island Georgia. Our familiar understanding of this area allows us to provide you fantastic opportunities to grow your skills and understanding of ocean paddling. Many of our students have gone on to larger trips and skill assessments. Our credentials and experience as instructors and guides, combined with a small, intimate class size, allow for us to tailor this event to your skills and provide more individual attention to you.
Your growth as a paddler is important to us. We work with a list of goals you bring to Tybee, utilize progressions in skill development and tailor the week for the best learning you can have.
With 5 days to learn and grow, we will work on paddling and navigation skills; growing and developing throughout the week.
Tybee Island is a great winter getaway for kayaking. Even though the water is cool (dry suits recommended, wetsuits minimum) it’s still a lot warmer than the water at home. The salt water of the Atlantic is also easier to tolerate on the sinuses – no nose plugs needed! The island provides us with a flexibility to utilize a variety of tidal environments.
Paddling Skills and Tactics:
Never has kayak learning been so fun or luxurious. After a fulfilling day on the water we relax in our own rental home; spacious and modern – ahhh, showered, fed, and with beverage in hand we debrief and relax at the end of the day. Spacious living quarters and kitchen makes for happy clients.
No matter how you prefer to travel, we’ll assist you to get there.
If you choose to drive, you have the additional luxury of spending the week in the boat you know and love – yours!
Flying, while convenient for time savings, presents a few different options.
– You can rent a boat from our friends at Sea Kayak Georgia
– Or We can haul your gear (for a fee) and pick you up at the airport.
Two words: nutritious and delicious. We have a large repertoire of fantastic menus.
Special dietary needs will be honored.
All meals and snacks will be included; we simply ask that you share in cleanup to ensure the kitchen and house remain livable.
We’ll eat out one or 2 nights (on your own $) at one of the many quaint and delightful restaurants.
